The pickup housing is made up from four blocks of ebony. The center two blocks are cut to hold the coils at the correct angles and spacing to match the radius of the strings. The blocks are laminated together with epoxy using plastic pins to keep them in alignment. It's then machined, shaped, and polished, and coated with stain and oil like the fingerboard. The coils, which I have made up by Seymour Duncan, mount to the inside with brass clips. |
